Bob has a business degree in accounting. After college graduation, Bob worked at Chevron for two years. Next, he spent two years in Botswana as a Peace Corps volunteer. Following that, he went to work in accounting and management for Viacom Cablevision and later moved to the Bay Area to work at American President Lines in Oakland. He was responsible for budgets, forecasts, and analyses. He also managed about 75 longshoremen.

In 2001, Bob changed careers and went to work for Napa Valley Wealth Management (NVWM) – a financial planning firm, until 2019.

Bob moved to Sonoma County with his wife, to be closer to his two sisters who live here. He became involved with SAVS, where he thought he could make a difference.
