Dr. Len Wynn-Summers, Board Member
Dr. Len Wynn-Summers, Ed.D.was recently appointed to SAVS Board of Directors and now serves as Special Project Manager. Len previously worked for SAVS as a Case Manager at Horizon Village.
Len comes to SAVS with 26 years in higher education as a Sociology/Statistics/Research Methods College Instructor/Professor, teaching onground and online at SRJC, San Joaquin Delta College, and Holy Names University (Oakland, CA), a previous Academic Dean in MN, and college Department Chair in IL.
His has an earned doctorate (Ed.D.) in Higher Educational Leadership from California State University, Stanislaus, 2017, M.A. in Quantitative Sociology from Bowling Green State University, OH, 1998, and a B.A. in Sociology & B.S. in Social Work from Xavier University of OH .in 1994
Dr. Summers also works as an independent research consultant conducting quantitative and qualitative research for nonprofit organizations, data analytics on crime, health, population studies, and higher education policy evaluation. Len is also a previous Data Specialist for the University of Illinois, Chicago. Lastly, Len is an U.S. Army veteran with 9 years of combined active and reserve duty.
Len’s social service background began as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) for the State of Ohio working with dual-diagnosed clients: severe and persistent mental illness and addiction counseling. In addition, Len has worked with early-release prison clients conducting individual and group counseling and case management for mental retardation/developmentally delayed (MRDD) clients, and housing for the homeless in large urban cities.
